at the Pittsfield Branch.
Learn how to protect yourself and your family from lead exposure in your home.
The United Way cosponsors this all day event full of educational information and activities to teach others the ways to prevent lead poisoning. You may drop by throughout the day for the activities. Fact sheets are given to attendees and Captain CLEARCorps and Limpia coloring books are given to children. Jimmy’s Getting Better: a 26-minute film about the dangers and means of preventing lead poisoning is shown periodically throughout the day.

10 years of Smooth Jazz festivals are honored by the Arts League of Michigan and Smooth Jazz V98.7.
The Artwork submitted should reflect the 10 years of the Smooth Jazz festivals. The winning piece will become the 10th Anniversary Commemorative Poster. The winner will receive part of the sale of the poster. The Top Five Finalists will receive admissions to the Arts League of Michigan exhibition (TBD).

The Lucille H. Porter Community Leaning Post, Inc. is sponsoring its 13th Annual African-American Downtown Festival, Saturday, June 7, 2008, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The location is North 4th Avenue and Ann Street, Ann Arbor, MI.
The festival is designed to generate a sense of unity and community involvement for African-Americans.
African-American organizations especially, such as the NAACP, fraternities and sororities, fraternal and social clubs and churches are encouraged to participate by buying a table(booth) to show unity and publicize their units. (This still can be done.)
Individuals and groups are encouraged to volunteer to assist the LHPCLP to make the event a success.
