Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of slavery's end in the United States.
This year’s celebration, hosted by the Charles H. Wright Museum's Women's Committee, will be a block party for the entire family to enjoy, including food, games and entertainment, including:
• a parade featuring the Michigan Black Horsemen, Buffalo Soldiers, Tuskegee Airmen & more!
• Shoot around, free throw & slam dunk contests!
• Arts & Crafts, face painting, Princess Presto from DPTV's "Super Why" & PAWS, the official mascot of the Detroit Tigers!
